James brings more than two decades of leadership experience in cell and gene therapy, with deep expertise in the design, development, manufacturing and testing of viral vectors for clinical and commercial use. Prior to joining eXmoor, he spent over 23 years at Oxford Biomedica, where he held senior executive roles including Chief Technical Officer and, most recently, Chief Quality and Technical Officer.

Throughout his career, James has led cross-functional teams across GMP manufacturing, process development, quality, regulatory affairs and strategic programme management. He is a named inventor on several patents in the field and is the founding director of the BBSRC-funded ABViP programme – a collaborative training partnership with the University of Oxford and University College London. He continues to support a range of organisations as an independent consultant.

At eXmoor Pharma, James serves as a non-executive director on the board and also provides consulting services to the leadership team, bringing strategic insight and technical depth to guide the company’s continued growth.
